Who does not loves monsoon? Rainy season after a long and hot summer in eastern countries is a blessing, however parents are worried due to damp places, soaking clothes, dripping pipes, wet umbrellas. All this moisture may leads to fungal and microbial contamination 

  • Special care must be given to babies to avoid any type of illness.
  • Do a premonsoon check in whole house. 
  • Be vigilant with mosquito nets and baby safe mosquiot repellents. 
  • Never ignore any minor cold or mild fever in babies.

Along with that, here are some more useful tips to safeguard your baby from any trouble in monsoon 

1. Keep your space thouroghly clean

In monsoon there are increased chances of water born disseases, so throughly clean the home. Clean floor with disinfecatnst . Keep bathrooms, roof, yards and gardens free from gathered water and mosquitos. Keep away dampnes as much as possible. keep dirt away from furniture, carpet and sofas by vaccum cleaner.. Get a pest control treatment done before the onset of the rainy season.

2. Temperature Monitoring is Important

Babies are best raised around temperature of 28 to 30 degree centigrades. It should neither get too hot nor too cold. Use cotton beddings and covers for babies. At night, if there is less temperature cover your baby with an extra layers of clothing.

3. Always, always boil water for babies

Hydration is very important throughtout the year so in monsoon too. Boil the water, cool it and store it for drinking and even food making for babies. Give fresh fruit juices to baby like cherries, peaches, plums and mangoes. Increase intake of protein by whole eggs and pulses etc. 

4. Never compromise on baby cleaning and hygeine 

Carefully bath baby daily with sponge and normal temperature water. Clean all the craeses of body specially neck, underarms and genitals to washoff all the bacteria. Give babies massage with mild lotion or oil to improve blood circulation. .

5. Choose light clothing

Despite of rains, weather is hot and humid in monsoon so always put light clothing to baby. Cover fully with light cotton clothes, when outside to protect from mosquitoes and other insects. Don't put damp clothes as wearing damp clothes may lead to cold and even funagl skin infections.

6. Time for diapers break

Dont forget to give baby diaper break indoor. When outdoor, it is adviseable to use diapers. While it’s highly advisable to use diapers while outdoors, make sure to let your baby skin breath indoor. If diaper rash develops, take proper measures of hygeine and put doctor recomended ointment to baby.
