A newer strain of Covid-19 has been emerged as a novel threat that is The Delta variant. This variant is originated in India, it is not only more lethal but spreads at more rapid rate across the globe and making a concern for another surge of covid-19.

1. Symptoms are same more or less
Symptoms of the Delta variant appear to be the same as the original version of COVID-19 with the slight differences. However, physicians are seeing people getting sicker quicker and mortality is high with this variant. Vaccinated people are asympotomatic or contracting milder symptoms. Symptoms are more like of common cold such as cough, fever, flu with addition of head ache and diarrhoea.
2. Highly contagious
According to the CDC during the same week, the Delta variant accounted for more than 80% of new cases in the U.S.
3. Non vaccinated peopple are at increased risk
In the US, 97% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, as of July 22. Vaccines are highly effective at preventing COVID-19 infection and are also effective in fighting against the Delta variant.
4. Health experst are urging to continue wearing masks along with vaccination
Many health experts across the country are wearing masks themselves even though they're fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Health expert are emphasizing importance of geeting vaccinations as COVID-19 vaccines works to prevent severe disease, thus preventing fatality.
5. Delta variant could be more damaging in some communities
In communities with lower vaccination rates, particularly areas with limited access to care, the Delta variant could be even more damaging. This is already being seen around the world in poorer countries where the COVID-19 vaccine isn't as accessible.
6. More COVID-19 variants are likely to come
The Delta variant is currently the most prominent strain of COVID-19, but the Lambda variant out of South America is also emerging. Health experts urge that if people want to get back to normal lifestyles, a significant portion of the population needs to be vaccinated.
